As a relatively new member (6 months), I started out as an All-Levels-Fitness athlete and decided to make the “jump” to regular CrossFit. Both classes introduced me not only to a supportive work-out community I never knew existed (before I worked out at work by myself), but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that ANYONE can do CrossFit –it can be tailored to you! Every class has a coach to assist and encourage you and I feel better physically and mentally than I have in years. I absolutely recommend coming to a class (start with the All Level Fitness class on Sunday) and finding out what a hidden gem this place is with a community who takes care of and truly supports their members.

#‎TrustingtheProcess‬ has some great results and success for me personally. Yes I’m one of those obsessed CrossFit people folks make fun of, but you can make fun of me all you want because I have never been so healthy and fit in my life like I am in my 40s. The CrossFit community especially my own box Cynergy is THE BEST community I’ve been lucky to know and be a part of – all supportive and encouraging and EVERY SINGLE ONE has helped me in so many ways.

I haven’t hit sports/fitness wins since I was a kid before knee surgeries – I thought my knee issues and surgeries back when I was 12 and 13 years old would never have me at a competitive level again – why did I think that? Well because I had coaches tell me that – yes coaches who had no clue how to coach nor understand how to train someone back from an injury and for me it was a double whammy with both knee injuries and surgeries. Thanks to Cynthia Carse Brown’s coaching leadership and all the great coaches at Cynergy who have helped me get here in the last 8 months. I know I have way more to go and I am looking forward to that progress!

Hanson Warriors Super Bowl Champs 2014

Cindy, Keith, and the Cynergy Staff,

On behalf of the parents, players, and coaches of the 2014 Hanson Youth Football midget(7th and 8th grade) team I want to express our gratitude to you, your staff, and your program.  Back in June several of our players participated in your Sports Performance Camp.  When the season began in mid-August it was obvious that the boys who participated in the summer program were better prepared than the boys who didn’t.   After witnessing first hand the benefits of the program we decided to offer the boys the chance to enroll in the program during the 9 week season.

That decision turned out to be the biggest reason for our success this year.  We finished the year 10-0 and were OCYFL Super Bowl Champions.  That was the first time in more than 10 years a Midget Team from Hanson won the Super Bowl.  After our first game it was evident that our boys were physically dominant in victory.  As the season progressed, week after week our boys were stronger than their opponents despite being significantly smaller than them.  The workouts you designed for the boys allowed them to gain size,strength, and speed.

The training the boys received was much more than the obvious physical benefits.   Mental toughness, teamwork, and the “Dont give up” attitude is what truly separated the boys from our opponents.  Lastly, watching the confidence level of each kid grow on a weekly basis was the most rewarding benefit of the entire program. Confidence that helped these “boys” transition to “young men”.

As someone that suffered from the stigma of crossfit I’m glad that I finally took the leap…. The people have been amazing… I’ve never felt more welcomed in any gym I belonged to. The few trainers I’ve worked with have been nothing shy of great… And the most impressive was a personal email from the owner of Cynergy when I signed up… That speaks volumes. Thanks again.

Tomorrow is a bittersweet day for me. As I begin a new chapter with Jessica, I also think back on the wonderful short period we shared at Cynergy. The people, the programming, and atmosphere were amazing to be a part of and hard to leave. I loved every moment I got to spend in your wonderful gym. You’ve created such an amazing place for people to come together and embrace the grind. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your community for a little while. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun in the process. You have created a wonderful place and I know Jessica and I are both going to dearly miss being apart of Cynergy. Thank you again Cindy. You and your staff are incredible and I wish we could have had more time together. All my best.

I wanted to share the feedback I received from Brenda about her experience with the Fuel for Performance Challenge and congratulate her again on her accomplishments! Well done Brenda!!

I was/am definitely someone who was looking to take my performance to the next level, and the fuel challenge was the perfect opportunity to explore that. I used the time to tweak my current eating plan, and although reluctant in the beginning, I made the decision to “trust the process”. I did make some calorie adjustments depending on how I was feeling day to day. I found the pre and post WOD advice especially useful, followed by a more conscious awareness of what I was eating the rest of the day. I would say my energy level during workouts and throughout the day was noticeably different. If I had to sum it up, I would say it was/is a very efficient use of calories at the right time.

I would also like to share my own Cross fit experience with you:

I was always an active person, but as I was approaching the end of my 40’s and that wonderful thing called menopause, I really felt it would be important for me to dedicate some time each week to work on my strength, keep my bones healthy, and keep moving.

When I came to the box for the first time, I was not sure Cross-fit was for me. I was initially overwhelmed by the weights being thrown around like footballs. I kept thinking, what did I get myself into. Six months later, I still wasn’t sure Cross- fit was for me, but decided to stick with it as I felt I was making strength gains. Now, 9 months later, I am SURE Cross-fit is for me. I honestly feel stronger approaching 49 than I did when I was 25.
I am sure everyone experiences Cross-fit in their own way, but for me it was a slow simmer that evolved into something I could not have imagined.

In my opinion, I would say this is a program that requires patience, commitment, and trust that it will eventually come together. The staff/coaches are wonderful and definitely possess these elements. Thank you for all your time, energy and effort.
