My wife and I decided to give Cynergy CrossFit a try back in April of this year, after seeing the transformation of my Son and Daughter-in-Law over the last year. We were a little apprehensive about joining a CrossFit gym, since we are in our late 60’s. Besides, we had been members at another local gym years back, but never really had the opportunity to have coaches working with us. Our first trial week at Cynergy CrossFit LIVE class was great. Walking into the Gym we were immediately approached by Cindy, the owner and lead Coach. Cindy instantly made us feel as part of the group, introducing us to Marty, and Deb, her assistant coaches. She then introduced us to that day’s LIVE class participants. All were very friendly and welcomed us to the class. Over the next several months I have been noticing a change in our strength and stamina. As the name LIVE suggests this class is more about letting Senior’s continuing to do the activities we always like to do with less pain and restrictions. Over the last several months I have noticed that I don’t run out of breath, and I’ve reduced the everyday aches and pains doing projects around the house, or participating in sports such as swimming, hiking and golfing. I have been able to lose around 15 pounds and was pleased when I had my physical and all my lab work came back so much better than in the past. Another observation was how fast we became part of the CrossFit family. Either arriving for our 8 am class or leaving when the 9 am class is arriving everyone is so friendly and always giving words of encouragement. About the class itself, it is not a full hour of strenuous exercise but a good 20 minutes for stretching, working on balance and most importantly how to do that day’s program properly, whether it’s working on strengthening with free weights, or stamina with rowing, stationary bike, or running. Another great aspect of the class is the variety of exercises that we do from class to class. It’s never a dull moment during the 1 hour class. As, mentioned above the highest praise for the class must be the coaches. Cindy, Marty and Deb are not only professionals but have a passion and a helping spirt that they bring to the class every day. We would highly recommend and encourage seniors looking to live the LIVE lifestyle to stop by the class and give it a try. You will not regret it.
