Today we recognize and acknowledge Coach Mark O’Reilly.
Mark has been a staple at Cynergy for over 6 years now and has developed a reputation for running FUN, disciplined and well-structured classes that the athletes LOVE! Mark has taken our All Levels Fitness class and made it what it is today… a packed house each week!
His dedication to the athletes he coaches and his care and concern for the members is obvious. He is always willing to jump in and support the team where ever needed….impressive since his “other job” is Sergeant and K9 Commander for the Mass Department of Corrections.
Mark, I thank you for your endless contributions to Cynergy and our members. Very grateful to have you on the team! Thank you!

Getting to know a little more about Mark:
What brought you to Cynergy?
I competed in the First Responders Challenge and never left
How long have you been a CrossFitter and Coach?
6 years
What is your athletic background look like?
I played Hockey, Baseball and Weightlifting
What would you say is the best part of being a CrossFit Coach?
I enjoy helping an athlete get that first pull up ,first handstand push up ,something that they have been trying to accomplish, I enjoy seeing the look on their face when they finally do accomplish that task
What advice would you give to a new athlete?
To concentrate on the movement and perfect them before they worry about the time.
Compete against yourself, not the others
And, a veteran athlete?
To remember you are not always going to PR. Some days you are at 75% and some days you can kill everything in front of you. And, the same advice applies as it does for new athletes; good movement and technique and the PR’s will come with time.
What are your current goals as a Coach?
To try to interact with every athlete in my class whether it is helping them perfect a movement or helping them get through a really hard work out
And to make it fun because this stuff is hard but you can have fun doing it.
And, as an athlete?
To train healthy
What is your favorite movement to Coach?
I like to train the Olympic lifts, because there’s a lot of coach and athlete interaction
How would you describe the Cynergy Community?
The community at Cynergy is one of the main reasons why myself and my family have stayed. Everyone here is very nice, supportive and fun. The people make that gym.
What are some of your favorite or most memorable moments as a Coach?
I don’t have just one moment. I enjoy watching an athlete walk into the gym for the first time and maybe leave crying ,but they keep coming back and a month later that same athlete walks into the gym with confidence and goes after the work out and kills it.
