Andi Mohnkern – Spotlight Athlete

Congratulations Andi, December’s athlete of the month!  Andi always has a smile on her face and an upbeat attitude.  It’s hard to not enjoy a workout with Andi in the room, even if it is the assault bike!  She is a fierce competitor, which you would never know because of her humble attitude.  She is the 1st to cheer people on and just make them feel better if they are having an off day!  Her silliness, and lightness always brighten the room!

What do you do for work?

I have been working for Southwest Airlines for almost 16 years loading bags and was in the military for 8 years with two deployments. I also work for my amazing family, three wonderful angels and a loving husband.

What would you like us to know about you and your family?

I pretty much love my life and try not to take anything to seriously, unless I am on the bike at the gym.

What is one thing that we may not know about you?

I swear to my kids that because I am a mom I have magical powers that only moms can have. The truth is I believe It!

How long have you been CrossFitting?

Well I started in the military, stopped for a few years till I felt weak and useless then met Charlene and was like I want to be her when I grow up. I

What time do you typically train?

All times but mostly 10 or 9am

You should see how I train in my dreams!

What is your favorite lift and why?

I think I like deadlifts because I can lift more than my body weight.

What is your favorite WOD and why?

Any hero WOD. Ummm because HEROES are awesome.

What are your current life goals?

To be as happy and healthy as possible, deep down would love to get my level one and become a coach when mom life eases up.

What is your most memorable time as a CrossFitter?

Not sure every workout is memorable for me!

How has CF impacted your life outside of the box?

How much time do you have? This is my true support system, not only do I have a place to go that challenges me in all ways physically and mentally but it keeps my soul so happy. I can be in the worst place and show up, see everyone working out and encouraging one another and it changes my outlook on life. I have met some of the nicest people on earth here and I am so thankful for that!
