Addy Holland – Spotlight Athlete

Addy is this months spotlight Athlete as I couldn’t think of someone more deserving.

It is amazing that a teenager with every reason to not get up so early continues to show up at 5am even during summer break.  Her motivation and consistency is something everyone can learn from!

Her work ethic, enthusiasm, energy and willingness to learn are an absolute joy to experience in the mornings.

I’m so excited to continue watching you grow as an athlete.

What do you do for work?
I am a full time student in West Bridgewater and am going into the eighth grade.

What would you like us to know about you and your family?
I live in Bridgewater with my older sister , Lauren, my mom , Michelle and my Dad, who is also a member at Cynergy. My family and I also love vacationing in St John USVI.

What is one thing that we may not know about you?
I love to play field hockey as a forward and I run spring track. I also love to cook and babysit.

How long have you been CrossFitting?
I have been CrossFitting for 8 months and counting!

What time do you typically train?
I am a proud 5am’er!

What is your favorite lift and why?
My favorite lift is back squat because I feel like I have improved the most since I started at CrossFit.

What is your favorite WOD and why?
My favorite WOD so far is coach Jen’s workout because it includes some of my favorite movements.

What are your current life goals?
My current life goals , are to do well in school , stay healthy and strong , and reach and 200lb deadlift by the end of the year.

What is your most memorable time as a CrossFitter?
My most memorable time as a Cynergy was when I PR’ed in my back squat and everyone was cheering me on . This might be another reason why this is my favorite lift.

How has CF impacted your life outside of the box?
CF has made me a more disciplined and stronger athlete and going to the gym also motivates me to be productive for the rest of the day which would otherwise not happen.
